Dedicated Contract | 8–10 Hours Daily | 2–3 Year Term
Steele’s is preparing to launch a new long‑term partnership with a major customer in the Edmonton region. We are seeking 2 experienced Owner Operator drivers with tandem‑axle day cabs and flat deck experience to support this dedicated fleet.
This is a stable, multi‑year opportunity with consistent hours, predictable scheduling, and steady revenue for qualified Independent Contractors.
About the Work
- Dedicated contract work (not part of our regular LTL freight)
- Lighter commodities and simple flat deck loads
- No heavy, specialty, or complex flat deck freight
- Work is based onsite at the customer’s Edmonton facility
- Drivers will pull customer‑owned trailers
- Local deliveries only within the Greater Edmonton Area
- 8–10 hours per day, Monday–Friday (details to be confirmed)
- Expected contract duration: 2–3 years

Compensation
The proposed compensation structure for Owner Operators is:
- $46.50 per hour (minimum 8 hours per day)
- $0.30 per kilometer
- 75% of FCA Fuel Surcharge
- Current FCA TL fuel surcharge: 58.1%
- 75% contractor share = 43.5%
This model provides strong, stable earnings aligned with the multi‑year contract term.
Equipment Requirements
To qualify, Owner Operators must provide:
- Tandem‑axle day cab – 2017 or newer
- Clean, well‑maintained equipment
- On‑board tracking/telematics
- Ability to operate within customer systems and meet onsite requirements
- Use of the customer‑provided app for routing and dispatch
Flat deck experience is mandatory, though freight is not heavy or complex.
