The opportunity

We are looking for a freight pricing professional who knows how to turn a freight quotation into a business opportunity. This position combines hands-on freight rating and quotation preparation with responsive inside sales and customer development. The ideal candidate understands CWT (per-hundredweight) and pallet-based rates and is confident explaining service options and pricing to customers.

What you will do

·      Calculate rates using CWT, pallet rates, weight breaks, minimums, zones, fuel surcharges and accessorials.
·      Validate origin, destination, shipment weight, dimensions, pallet count and service requirements before quoting.
·      Apply approved pricing guidelines; coordinate with Operations and Dispatch where needed.
·      Maintain customer rate schedules, quote history and customer pricing information.
·      Respond to inquiries, follow up on open quotes and convert opportunities into profitable business.
·      Develop existing customer relationships and identify additional freight opportunities.
·      Support customer proposals, contract renewals, RFQs and new business development.
·      Track quote activity, conversion, customer feedback and lost-business reasons in the CRM.

What you bring

·      At least 3 years in transportation pricing, freight rating, rate administration, LTL quotations or related inside sales.
·      Direct experience preparing or calculating LTL rates; working knowledge of both CWT and pallet-based pricing.
·      Understanding of freight tariffs, weight breaks, minimums, fuel and accessorial charges.
·      Excellent numerical skills, accuracy, organization and customer communication.
·      Working knowledge of Excel and business systems; ability to manage simultaneous quotes and customer requests.
·      A practical, commercially minded approach that balances customer value and sustainable margins.

Preferred experience

Asset-based LTL carrier, freight brokerage or 3PL background; familiarity with the Calgary–Red Deer–Edmonton corridor; TMS and CRM experience; knowledge of local delivery costs, freight profitability, contract pricing and transportation RFQs.

What we offer

·      Competitive base salary and performance-based incentive opportunity.
·      Employee benefits and permanent, full-time employment.
·      Collaborative team environment with opportunities to grow.
·      A meaningful role in the growth of an established Alberta transportation company.

How to apply

Please submit your resume and a brief introduction outlining your hands-on experience with LTL freight rates, customer quotations and transportation sales. We look forward to hearing from candidates who enjoy both the technical and commercial sides of freight.
