Steele’s has a strong reputation for our service which we have been building since 1957 when the company was founded by Eric and Kathleen Steele. Dennis Steele, who joined the family business in 1987 leads and operates Steele’s as a business partnership under FMi Logistics Group Inc. 
Steele’s is an asset-based business which utilizes a fleet of dedicated equipment which are company-owned assets and owner-operator-owned equipment working as sub-contractors along with carrier partners to provide safe, timely and competitive freight delivery services throughout Alberta. Our main area of service occurs in the busy corridor between Calgary – Red Deer – Edmonton and we do have staff and/or drivers based in each one of these major cities.



Job Title: Inside Sales Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities through outbound sales efforts, qualifying leads, and supporting the sales team in growing revenue. This role is ideal for someone who is results-driven, a strong communicator, and eager to sell logistics solutions to businesses across Alberta.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prospecting & Lead Generation

 Identify and research potential LTL freight customers through online tools, databases, and industry contacts.
 Cold calls, emails, warm-calling campaigns, and follow-up on inbound leads to generate new sales opportunities. As well as receiving online requests and creating sales leads.
 Qualify prospects and understand their transportation needs to position Steele’s Transfer’s services effectively.
 Coordinate and process inbound spot quote requests, sales orders and provide technical knowledge and detailed service specifications to meet customer needs. 
 Process inside sales orders by checking for the correct price, profile, description, quantity, and credit terms. 
 Assists sales/project personnel in pricing, product research and technical order information. 
 Support the sales team by completing paperwork/forms to record the required sales information. 
 Any other duties required by the sales team

2. Customer Relationship Management

 Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities in CRM software.
 Schedule follow-ups to build strong relationships with potential and new customers.
 Work closely with Account Managers / CSCs to transition new customers for long-term growth.
 Understanding customer needs and requirements, providing clarifications and answers to their questions.
 Interface with customers and sales on matters dealing with quotations, scheduling, delivery dates and shipping. 
 Assist customers with product/service applications by providing technical knowledge of our services. 
 Provide quotations from lists of services. 
 Coordination with the sales team to produce customer-facing documentation. 
 Regularly updating documentation and record-keeping 
 After-sales follow-ups with Customers and relationship-building
 Maintain the appropriate customer files and reports. 

3. Sales Outreach & Closing Deals

 Engage with potential customers, present service offerings, and close new business deals.
 Negotiate pricing, prepare quotes, and follow up on opportunities to maximize revenue.
 Collaborate with the Pricing & Dispatch teams to develop competitive rate structures.

4. Collaboration with Other Teams

 Work with Operations & Finance to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers.
 Communicate customer feedback and market insights to the Sales and Leadership teams.
 Support marketing initiatives by identifying potential case studies and success stories.

Education and Experience Requirements:

 2+ Years’ experience in an (inside sales, customer service, or logistics preferred).
 A secondary Diploma or Degree /associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
 Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer skills including Word, Excel, email outreach tools, PowerPoint, and various proprietary systems. 
 Experience in Social Media Marketing skills and PowerPoint presentations.  
 Experience in building and nurturing a Sales Pipeline. 
 Tech-savvy – Experience with CRM systems.

Qualifications/Skills (Profile):

 Sales-Driven Personality – Passion for sales, comfortable making outbound calls, and ability to handle rejection professionally. 
 Strong cold calling and lead generation skills through calling and email campaigns
 Strong Communication Skills – Ability to engage, persuade, and build rapport with customers.
 Industry Knowledge (Preferred) – Experience in LTL, trucking, or logistics is an asset.
 Organized & Detail-Oriented – Ability to track leads, follow up on opportunities, and manage multiple sales tasks.
 Goal-oriented – Motivated by sales targets and commissions, with a desire to grow within the company.
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 Good with clients and vendors/partners alike. 
 Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
